I'd Rather Be

October 21, 2003

Listen to these words carefully.

I'd rather be a "Could Be,"
If I couldn't be an "Are."
For a "Could Be" is a "May Be,"
With a chance of reaching par.
I'd rather be a "Has Been,"
Than a "Might Have Been" by far.
For a "Might Have Been" has never been,
But a "Has Been" was once an "Are."

The message here is clear; you choose the direction your life will take.  You choose the path down which you will walk.  You can lament about a failed past or you can look to a bright future.  As you travel home this evening, ask yourself, "Which path will I travel down?"

Good night, gentlemen.
